Mar. 28th, 2007 09:14 amFor those of you who read the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, the sci-fi channel is running a series based on the books. I watched one on Monday. It's ok but not as good as the books- but then what ever is. If you haven't read these books, my description is to imagine an adult Harry Potter. He fumbles and bumbles, he makes mistakes, but he tries to do the right thing and usually gets there in the end. I really enjoy the books, I think the something has been lost in the show. Still it's worth watching at least a couple times to see if I get hooked.
Also of note, is the new series based on Tanya Huff's Blood Series. I think it started Sunday on Lifetime- I haven't seen it yet but it could be interesting. Not as graphic as the Anita Blake series by Laurel Hamilton but a similar premise.
I'm finding it interesting to see how popular fiction is influencing television. It's not all sitcoms and soap operas anymore.
