Mar. 18th, 2007 07:45 pmAs a general rule, I do not like laundromats (or really laundry at all for that matter), however, where else could I have done seven loads of laundry in less than two hours? With Grandma in the hospital, my mom is not doing household chores, like laundry and so I must do my own. I know it seems silly at 32 to have mom do my laundry but when I was in school I just didn't have the time. She agreed to do my laundry so I didn't have to take time away from my studies to do it. I figure since I have finished school, perhaps our agreement is null and void but I'm always welcome to use their conveniences. Since my apartment has no washer and drier hook ups for the machines I had before, and the complex has no on-site laundry, it's that or the laundromat. Last time I had to do two weeks worth of laundry, it took me all day well into the night and my dad had to finish up a couple of loads for me the next day. I didn't want to spend that much time doing laundry this week. So I bit the bullet, bought laundry soap and headed to the laundromat in town. I set everything to wash, came home and worked on household chores for an hour then went back to babysit the driers. Who ever uses just 6 minutes on a drier? I ran out of quarters before everything was completely dry and, as a consequence, I have damp laundry cascading over every available surface in my house. Still, I've had a most relaxing afternoon and I would not have had so if I'd had to go into town and spend all day changing laundry.
