I just got home from my family time. Shopping with mom was fun and resulted in a lot of new clothes for christmas, too bad the size is so large. Friday we got the call that Grandma is in the hospital again. Mom thought maybe she would have to cancel the all day scrap we were going to. Turned out there wasn't anything she could do so we stayed and scrapped from 10 am to 10 pm. Wow long day! Still planned for the anniversary party today since the doctor thought that she might be released today.
Early morning call today- Grandma's not responding to medication and they aren't sure that she'll last the day. A volley of calls followed and it was determined that we would continue with the party plans, just move back and forth to the hospital. A quick check with the hospital nurses and they said "If you can fit 25 people in her room, go for it." So we did and we did. There were 27 people at one point and Grandma stabilized and improved enough to be able to talk mostly coherently to us. It was rather surprising that the ICU allowed so many visitors at once and for so long (2.5 hours). I guess they figured she was critical enough that it could only help. And it did. When we left she was tired but her blood pressure and heart rate were normal. All for the love of family. It may be a temporary reprieve. We don't expect her to last too much longer, but we've been thinking that for over a year now.
When we finally got home, Mom and I started working on Dad's quilt. Cutting out quilt pieces is a bitch. Nothing is straight or wants to cooperate. Gaahhh! It's all cut out, as best as we can figure and I've got the three main strips sewn together. Still it took way to long and I need to get to bed NOW! Maybe more in the morning. I need to figure out what half finished projects I am going to work on and what I can get done. It's driving me nuts.
