Survived Council and other news
Dec. 5th, 2006 09:14 amCouncil went surprisingly well. We had no moments of drama. We got through 24 budgets, 24 reports and about 10 other agenda items and only went about 30 minutes over. I am so impressed! Almost everyone was prepared with reports and budgets. Everyone was in a cooperative mood. It was fabulous. I had to hurry one person along and shush people several times but we got through it with minimal complaints. In fact, I really didn't hear any. We spent a lot of money and that concerns me somewhat, but we have it and it should be ok. A few people got more money than they requested because their requests seemed too minimal. At least two officers did not submit budgets or reports, they were assigned budgets, generous budgets, by the council rather than given nothing. (Although that would have served them right) I'm hoping by sending out an Agenda and following council with a summary report, we can keep people informed and involved and cut down on the communication problems that have been plaguing us.
December ought to be fun and painless. Cookies! Lots and lots of cookies.
In other news, I finished the cross stitch for my nephew Sunday night. Now I need to make it into something he'll appreciate. That felt like a huge accomplishment but it's only one gift. I still have lots to do. I'll be busy in the evenings and whatever portions of the weekends are not spoken for.
