I still haven't found a ride. Everyone seems to be leaving early today. Maybe I'll just drive down by myself tomorrow. I just hate spending the gas money to do that.
The other thing that is perplexing me. I have no interest in fighting in the rapier tournament. I had a great time and really looked forward to Crown, so why not at Coronet? I don't have an answer. If I go down tomorrow, I'm not going to try to get there before the tournament. *sigh* I don't understand myself sometimes. I guess part of it is feeling like rapier is really discouraged and even disaproved of in the Summits. Certainly it's not supported. It has nothing to do with rules and everything to do with attitude. When the multitude of princes say "No thrusting in the coronet tournament because we don't want to watch a rapier tournament...." How are we supposed to interpret that, other than that they think rapier is somehow less esteemed. Add to that the rare attendance of the coronets at the rapier tournaments and the limited attendance of any populace to watch the tournaments and really we feel unappreciated. Ok, that's at least my take on it. It means I just don't enjoy the tournaments at the coronet and baronial level.
I also feel like the rapier community here present looks down on me in a variety of ways. I follow and enforce the rules, therefore, I'm a hard ass. I'm a young fighter, therefore I don't have any skills that would make me worth fighting. I prefer a refined fight to a cour de cour brawl, therefore I'm a snob. I can't win. At least at the kingdom level there are people who appreciate what I am doing and with whom I can find some commonality even if I truly don't have a large amount of skill as witnessed by a win/loss ratio.
