hlmauera: (Snarling Cat)
So Mom and Dad traded vehicles with me last night so they could take my car in for repairs (like it didn't just spend Thursday and Friday at the shop. grrr!). But this morning, I get out to the car and I can't reach the pedals and I can't figure out how to move the seat forward. I reach for my phone, call mom and dad, it rings twice and the battery dies. It's enough, I'm in tears. I'm already running late but I run back into the house plug the phone in for a minute and try again. They tell me there is a lever but I don't see it. *Sigh* Finally I figure out that it is the same lever that rotates the seat up and down but I have to pull it forward instead of pushing up or down on it. I feel stupid. I can't even call work to tell them I'm going to be late. Dad called for me.
Otherwise, I got to work without any more trouble. There is the usual traffic cluster resulting from the bridge being out but that's normal right now. I sure hope the rest of the day is better.

*sigh* Muffler and exhaust~ $120 and now I need a new tire and a front-end alignment.

I want a new car!

Did I mention that I just spent lots of money with it in the shop on Thursday and Friday getting new struts and a throttle cable? The AC still doesn't work so either he didn't have time to get to it, or there wasn't a simple fix.

Vehicles suck, literally! All my money down the drain.

While I was in Seattle this weekend I found a cute little town that I would love to live in. It will all depend on where I find a job, because I obviously don't want a huge commute. Monroe reminds me of McMinville here in Oregon. It's stretched out and very small town-ish but it has all the conveniences of the larger town that it is~ fast food, shopping and reasonable conveniences. It is where highway 2 and 522 meet, North East of Seattle but not as far north as Everett.
