Twas fun now back to work
Jul. 31st, 2006 04:06 pmIt was fun to be in the Seattle area and see everyone. I even got out and played basketball with J, CE and j. Hmm. Boy did I need more practice but it was fun and I really needed the exercise. I was purple in the face when we finished- gotta love that Scandinavian blood.
Now I really have to buckle down on my diet and exercise. My weight is climbing and I need it to stop! If only it didn't seem to hurt for so long after I exercise. It's not like I'm overdoing it. Gotta get a handle on my "won't" power too- Stop eating all the sugar I'm not supposed to have at all.
So it sounds like my email to the Summits, which was intended only to enlighten people on our rules and authorization process, was perceived as being offensive. That wasn't my intent but, no matter what I say, someone seems to take offense. I wanted to give Summits one more chance for rapier before giving up on it entirely. With all the "support" we get it's no wonder the fighters are dropping like flies. I hear Turin has dropped out now due to the brouhaha at Stinky war. Oh, did you hear about that? The autocrat of the event got upset because he (Turin) wouldn't do authorizations at the event (as per our rules) and she didn't think there were enough fighters so she has petitioned the crown to ban rapier fighting in the Summits. Not that I think the crown will, but, damn, it's aggravating. I was approached by the deputy KRM about it, asking me what is happening in Summits. I answered as best I could. And I sent the email, hoping that knowledge would over take ignorance. *sigh* Wishful thinking.
And now Bows and Blades conflicts with the rapier and archery championship for Adiantum. I have to be at Bows and Blades. But boy, will that be entertaining. CG's bridal shower is that Friday so I am planning to ride the train to Seattle, go to the shower, then the group of us will drive down to Portland for Bows and Blades on Saturday morning. From there I have to find a ride home. I won't have my camping gear so if I have to stay until Sunday, I need lodging of some kind also. What a muck. I guess if I have to I can ride the train back to Eugene it just increases my expenses and I didn't want to do that. Got to figure out the arrangements so I don't stress about it.
I also still haven't registered for my classes for fall term. I know one of them will actually require attendance 4 or 5 fridays in the term from 4:45-8:45. Bugger! The other is a Psych class which I have to have permission to register for since I didn't take the prerequisite. I have a phone advising appointment tomorrow at 2. Both sound interesting but are outside of my realm of comfort. I guess that's what we go to school for. One is grant writing and is supposed to be limited to doctoral students and the other is Behavior Modification. Both seem rather appropriate. *giggle*
